Resolution is a curious factor. If you believe that resolution improves


model-by-model, year-by-year, resolution should now be better than real. My D300S is ten years old, have run at least 200K images through it, and it's still top notch. But I may be living on borrowed time with it.

There's a point at which even the sharpest, most critical human eye cannot discern finer resolution. When HDR was such a fad a few years ago, it was going to be the next quantum leap (until it wasn't as popular anymore).

Weight is immaterial to me since I work off a tripod all the time.

When I started out, Nikon was everything, and Canon wasn't marketed extensively in the 'burg. So when the F-1 appeared in stores, we called them "the new boys" and I still call them that. :-)
